Organization
The Timrod, one of only two membership libraries in South Carolina, is governed by a Board of Directors headed by the President. The Board meets monthly to execute business. Board members, three employees, and countless volunteers work diligently to maintain and enhance the mission of the Timrod in the Summerville community.
Since it is not a public library, the Timrod depends on dues, fees, gifts, bequests, memorials, and the generosity of friends for the funding to maintain and expand its collection and to preserve its historic building.
Honor and memorial gifts are graciously received and are appropriately acknowledged. A Timrod bookplate naming the donor and the honoree identifies memorial books.
